Still Life Painting--in class exercises


Flowers! I just jumped right in with this one, not really planning out what I was going to do. It was a pretty simple set up, except for all of the petals. That was tough. It worked though. I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out, though given a few more hours I'd really like to render some of the flowers more and work on those stems.


We were working on a glass bottle and patterns last week. I tried to keep the painting really warm, and only went in with the blues towards the end to make everything pop. It makes it so much easier for me--at least at this stage in my painting career--to limit my palette. It also helped to keep the color wheel out and constantly stay within my color scheme.
