Clothed Figure 3

Teacher told me to stop using tracing paper, because I was developing an addiction. First step is admitting you have a problem. I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM. I want my tracing paper back!

Clothed Figure 3

Just because I haven't posted them in awhile... I am not entirely consumed by paint. Yet.

Blocks!

In my spare time and just to hone my skills, I make small wood block paintings that I sell at local arts and crafts shows.

Landscape

Absolutely in love with painting outdoors. Working in oils in ever changing conditions is really exciting and challenging. That said, the second one is from a photo...

Clothed Figure Three

Focusing on silhouettes. And sharpening my pencils! Somehow I manage to talk myself into using a nubbin' because I'm just too lazy to sharpen it. These were both ten minute drawings.

Craft show paintings

On the side, to keep me sane, I like to make whimsical paintings. With them, I am trying to explore shape and color. I sell these locally to support my art habit.

10 minute pose. It feels so good to draw from the model again.

Clothed Figure 3

Back to the basics! I'm taking Clothed Figure 3 and am really glad I have a chance to brush up my skills. Forty minute pose. We're focusing a lot on shadow shapes this go-round. It's really interesting how each teacher tackles drawing cloth so differently.

Advanced Perspective

Some more concept work for my thesis. This class is teaching me the value of thumbnailing everything out beforehand. Its so much easier to catch composition issues at that stage, rather than after you've rendered a gigantic painting or drawing.
